— Services for Vera Larea Pooch, 91, Eudora, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Clearfield United Methodist Church, rural Eudora. Burial will follow at the Clearfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Pooch died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at the Eudora Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 1991. She was born Jan. 25, 1907, in Decatur County, Iowa, the daughter of Osmer M. and Nancy J. Johnson Rew.

She graduated from Wellsville High School in 1926. She was a homemaker and attended the Clearfield United Methodist Church.

She married Walter H. Pooch on Sept. 14, 1927, in Topeka. He died Dec. 21, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Cluchey, Topeka, and Nancy Buckley, Eudora; a sister, Ruby Meeder, Edgerton; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the Wilson and Son Chapel, Wellsville.

The family suggests memorials to the Clearfield United Methodist Church or the Capper Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home, 607 Main St., Box 486, Wellsville 66092.

Robert J. Hafferkamp

Services for Robert J. Hafferkamp, 58, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mr. Hafferkamp died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 14, 1940, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Frank Hafferkamp and Catherine Louise Drake.

He moved to Lawrence as a small child. He attended Lawrence schools and graduated from Tonganoxie High School. He worked in Kansas University's maintenance department for 10 years. Mr. Hafferkamp served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.

He married Betty Hafferkamp. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a brother, Frank Lee Hafferkamp, Missouri; and a sister, Hazel Ashcraft, Lawrence.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the donor's choice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
