Hikers and bikers will be able to use the Prairie Spirit Trail for free Saturday. The free trail passes are part of the ribbon cutting celebration for the nearly completed second phase of the 33-mile linear park which links five towns, from Welda to Ottawa.
The first part of the trail between Welda and Richmond opened in 1996.
There will be simultaneous celebrations in Ottawa and Garnett on Saturday.
Ottawa activities will include a bike rodeo for children ages 5-10. There will be vendor booths and a drawing for a free bicycle.
Garnett will host the ``Square Fair,'' which will feature food booths, arts and crafts vendors, and a display of railroad memorabilia at the Garnett Depot.
Passes will be available at trailheads in Richmond, Garnett, Welda and Ottawa.
