What was reported to police as a robbery turned out to be a case of a restaurant employee trying to rid himself of a telephone conversation.
Police at 10:37 p.m. were called to Jimmy John's Gourmet Sub Shop, 1447 W. 23rd, where a robbery was reported in progress.
Police arrived, however, to find out that an employee of the store had told his roommate that he was being robbed because he wanted his roommate to stop calling him.
The roommate then called police and reported the robbery.
Police were investigating the matter Sunday night as falsely reporting a crime, rather than a robbery. No arrests had been made.
