The Lawrence Indian Education program, a school district group, is holding its fifth annual powwow today.

Organizers expect at least a dozen vendors and 50 dancers at the Haskell powwow grounds.

The powwow, partially planned by students, is to celebrate the end of the school year and high school graduation. There will be a dance contest for dancers in kindergarten through high school.

Admission is free. Gourd dancing will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Grand entry will be at 7 p.m., followed by the dance competition.
