To the editor:
I was disappointed, but not surprised, to see that the 1998 Human Rights March and Rally on April 25 did not receive any coverage by the Journal-World. I think it was worthy of at least a small article to inform people that it happened.
Lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgendered people make up a significant percentage of the Lawrence population, though we continue to be largely invisible. Lack of coverage by our hometown newspaper of events such as that above unfortunately contributes to that invisibility.
I believe this is indicative generally of your poor coverage of local events and happenings, especially those that are not exactly mainstream. You have become far too complacent by being ``the only game in town'' for too long.
