Services for Jennifer L. Trapp, 23, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Trapp died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence.
She was born Feb. 13, 1975, in Lawrence, the daughter of Glenn R. ``Rick'' and Patricia A. Funston Trapp. They survive of the home.
Ms. Trapp was a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School and played basketball, volleyball and ran track, lettering for three years in basketball and volleyball. She was voted the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year in 1993. She also played basketball for Kansas University and was a starter for four years, from 1993-1997. She had planned to return to KU to complete a degree in secondary education. She had recently played professional basketball in Finland and Luxembourg.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Lawrence University Ward of the church and was an active participant as a speaker in youth conferences and in temple worship.
Survivors include her parents of the home; two sisters, Laurie M. Trapp, Gainesville, Fla., and Rebecca C. Trapp, Lawrence; and maternal grandparents, Merwin D. and Zelma M. Funston, Lawrence.
The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary and from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.
The family suggests memorials, sent in care of the funeral home, for girls' scholarships to coach Marian Washington's basketball camp at KU, the Lawrence High School girl's basketball and volleyball programs or the charity of the donor's choice.
