Some of Lawrence's most historic homes, businesses and schools will be the topic of a slide show presentation Tuesday night at the landmark Eldridge Hotel.
``Sites for Sore Eyes: Local Properties on the National Historic Register,'' a slide show review of 26 properties in town deemed worthy of recognition on the National Register of Historic Places, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom at the hotel, 701 Mass.
Dennis Enslinger, the city's historic resources administrator, will present the slide show and offer information about when they were listed on the register and about their contributions to local history.
Terry Riordan, who owns the Ludington-Thacher House, 1613 Tenn., also is scheduled to discuss his home and its ongoing renovation.
The presentations, sponsored by the Lawrence Preservation Alliance, are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Pat Kehde, 749-3300, or Joel Orton, 841-8644.
