Organizers of the Lawrence St. Patrick's Day Parade raised about $14,000 in a Celebrity and Sports Auction held Saturday at a local automobile dealership.
Debi Drummet, parade chair, said items that were sold for the highest amounts included an autographed George Brett baseball ticket and an autographed Kansas University men's basketball poster.
Proceeds from the parade and related events will be donated to the Crown Casting Club, which promotes fishing among youths.
Drummet said applications are still being accepted for both parade entries and entries for the 5-kilometer Shamrock Shuffle. Entries for both may be picked up at Lawrence Parks and Recreation facilities.
This year's parade will be at 1 p.m. March 17. It runs from South Park to the Flamingo Club, 501 N. Ninth.
