Services for Jehoiada H. ``Jeff'' Jeffery, 83, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Burial will be in the Eudora Cemetery.

Mr. Jeffery died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 25, 1914, in Mount Olive, Ark., the son of James C. and Alberta Thomas Jeffery.

He was a carpenter and worked for Kansas University in the facilities & operations department for six years before he retired in 1979. He also worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in DeSoto from 1951 to 1961 and for Clearview City as the maintenance supervisor for six years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II on Okinawa Island in the South Pacific.

He attended the Assembly of God Church in Eudora.

He married Ruth M. Dalrymple on July 11, 1942, in Melbourne, Ark. She survives of the home

Other survivors include two daughters, Julia Demott and Mary Neis, Eudora; a brother, Charlie P., Grass Valley, Calif.; a sister, Viola Schuler, Mountain Home, Ark.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation or to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
