Memorial services for Karen Lee Jackson, 56, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Lawrence. Cremation took place in Florida.
Mrs. Jackson died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Miami.
She was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Oneita and Gerald Ott. She was a graduate of Lawrence High and Kansas University.
She was a registered medical technologist from 1963 to 1994. She began her career at Providence-St. Margaret Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. She also worked at Kansas University Medical Center and Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She moved to Lawrence in 1993 and founded Mask-Snorkel-Fin Inc., where she served as corporate president and operating manager of the scuba diving business since 1994.
She was active in the Wyandotte High School Hi-Wives, Kansas City, Kan.; the Kansas City, Kan., Jaycee Jaynes; Beta Sigma Phi; Jobs Daughters; Ada Chapter No. 6 Order of Eastern Star, Lawrence; and Professional Women of the Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence.
She married James Douglas Jackson on Aug. 2, 1964. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Derek Jackson, Roeland Park, and Chad Jackson, Lenexa; a daughter, Kylie Jackson, Niles, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the KU Endowment Association.

Services for Clarence R. Wales, 69, are pending at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence.
Mr. Wales died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka.
