— Services for Lucie Emma Abel, 97, Eudora, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.

Mrs. Abel died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 1, 1900, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Reinhard and Emma Schroder Maul. She was a homemaker and a lifelong Eudora resident.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Adah Chapter No. 7 Order of Eastern Star, Lawrence, and the past matrons club of OES.

She married Martin Abel on Jan. 3, 1917, in Eudora. He died Dec. 18, 1967.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Wittenberg and June Thome, both of Lawrence; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or the Eudora Nursing Center. Memorials may be sent in care of the funeral home.


Services for Khao Rattanavongsy, 63, Lawrence, are pending at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.

Mrs. Rattanavongsy died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
