Less than two months after opening its first downtown outlet dispensing mountains of mashed potatoes, Potato Mountain is set to launch its second store.

The new Potato Mountain will open Saturday at 803 Vt. The original location is at 1011unintentional violation of an ordinance,'' Dana said in a telephone interview Tuesday. ``The campaign manager, he'll be coming over to remove the signs on Thursday.

Wildgen's tip for placing signs: Don't put one up near a sidewalk or utility pole because that's probably public right-of-way.

Political hopefuls can put up signs on private property six weeks before an election and must take them down two weeks after, Wildgen said. The signs cannot exceed 16 square feet. The same rules apply to the county.

Wildgen said the city throws away the signs as it collects them.

` try to give the potato the fame it deserves,'' McClun said.

When he opened the first store in May, McClun said his goal was to have four cafes open by January. Then he wants to take the idea national. That's still his plan.

``I've always wanted to come up with an idea and market it nationwide,'' he said.
