Services for Leota F. `Tommie' Carlson, 57, of Lawrence will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Carlson died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at her home.

She was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Ozawkie, the daughter of Raymond and Maxine Scott Kelch.

Mrs. Carlson was a member of Lawrence Woman's Bowling Assn. for 27 years. She was also an active member of the ladies group at the Lawrence Athletic Club and the Racquet Ball Club.

She was a homemaker and a day-care provider.

She married Harold E. Carlson Sr. on Sept. 23, 1960. He survives of the home

Other survivors include her mother, Oskaloosa; a son, Skip Carlson, Lawrence; a daughter, Lynn Campbell, Wichita; a sister, Neota Heffner, Lawrence; three brothers, Don Kelch, Billy Kelch, and Jerry Joe Kelch, all of Lawrence, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

The family suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Care of Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.


Services for Rosa Faye Stewart, 63, Lawrence, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mrs. Stewart died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1934, in Winona, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Telsia Callahan Roberts. She was a Lawrence resident for most of her life. Mrs. Stewart worked at Raney Drug Store for several years.

She married Donald Stewart on July 23, 1949, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Weeks, Eudora, and Celia Crisp, Lawrence; three brothers, Bobby Roberts and Larry Roberts, both of Lawrence, and Charles Roberts Jr., Oskaloosa; two sisters, Eula Reynolds and May Abel, both of Lawrence; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. and may be sent in care of the funeral home.


Services for Jeannette Holloway Jones, 85, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

She died Monday, July 6, 1998. She was a lifelong Lawrence resident.

Survivors include a son, Merton Wayne Jones, Topeka; a daughter, Delores Tolar, Lawrence; and a grandson.
