Topeka Services for Iva Opal Rogers, 85, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial will be at the Underwood Cemetery near Williamstown.
Mrs. Rogers died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in a Topeka nursing home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Winchester, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Iva Ethel Clinkenbeard Winfrey.
She had lived in Perry, Williamstown and Lawrence before moving to Topeka.
Mrs. Rogers worked many years as dormitory director for the Rehabilitation Center for the Blind in Topeka. In 1964, she was awarded the Eleanor A. Wilson award for outstanding services for the blind. She was a lifelong member of the Non-Denominational Christian church in Topeka.
She married Jewell Lee Rogers. He died in 1979.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Rogers, Gilchrist, Tex., and Dale Rogers, Topeka; a daughter, Rosa Lee Perron, Ozawkie; a sister, Beulah Cronk, Grandview, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A son, Gale Rogers, died in 1959. Two grandchildren also died earlier.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
