— Graveside services and interment for Chrystyne Irene Maichel, 88, Overbrook, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Overbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Maichel died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Brookside Manor Nursing Home, Overbrook.

She was born July 12, 1909, in Richland, the daughter of Francis and Effliene Pugh Benander. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Richland and Overland communities until retiring and moving to Overbrook in 1989.

She was a member of the Washington Creek Church of the Brethren in Douglas County and the Enterprise EHU in Overbrook.

She married Hyluard Maichel on July 29, 1935, in Lawrence. He died Nov. 19, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Kasey Lyn; and a great-grandchild, James Everett Fisher.

Survivors include four sons, Nelson Young, Topeka, Harold Young, Golden, Colo., Wayne Maichel, Silver Lake, and Carl Maichel, Ozawkie; three daughters, Sondra Simmons, Garden City, Ruth Gruver, Centropolis, and Bonnie Keim, Overbrook; a brother, Edwin Benander, Topeka; two sisters, Lois Crocket, Topeka, and Geraldine Kammerer, San Diego, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Greenwood-Roberts Heise Funeral Home in Overbrook, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
