Advanced Communications Group Inc. of Salina purchased several telecommunications companies including 49 percent of KIN Network Inc.
Advanced, which went public earlier this month, will provide long distance, local access Internet and other services in Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Missouri.
KIN Network, known as KINNET, is a subsidiary of Kansas Cellular of Salina. It owns and operates nearly 1,000 miles of fiber optic cable throughout Kansas.
