— Services for Velda M. Tinkum, 78, Cimarron, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Cimarron. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.

Mrs. Tinkum died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at the Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.

She was born May 7, 1919, in Cimarron, the daughter of Michael and Anna Belle Welsch Vath.

She grew up in the Cimarron area and graduated from Cimarron High School in 1938. She was a homemaker and farmed south of Cimarron for more than 40 years.

She was a former member of the Gray Center Church and served on several boards of the Gray County Over 50 Center in Cimarron.

She married Roy F. Tinkum on March 30, 1941, in Cimarron. He died Oct. 12, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan ``Jody'' Woodward, Lawrence, and Jeanne Loewen, Montezuma; a sister, Velma Flowers, Sacramento, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Gray County Over 50 Center or the Lawrence chapter of Meals on Wheels, sent in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, 919 N. Fifth, Cimarron 67835.
