Lawrence-based Kansas Golf Association has opened a web site aimed at providing members with information about KGA activities.

Located at, the site will feature tournament schedules, pairings and results. It will also include a state golf course directory.

A bonus feature of the directory is a section that will allow member courses to provide their own home page on the `net.

West upends South

in ninth-grade hoops

Marcus Chrisman scored 15 points and Richie Dunlop added 10 as West edged South, 48-45, in city ninth-grade boys basketball on Tuesday at West. The Warhawks improved to 9-4. Devin McAnderson scored 18 points, and Martin de Boer added 15 for South (3-11).

West won the B game, too, 36-15. Justin Haskett led West (6-5) with 10 points, and Tristin Green added eight. Nanfwang Mutfwang led South (1-11) with six points.

West will meet Central at Free State on Friday. South will travel to Southwest on Thursday.

LHS sophomores

edge SM Northwest

Clint Morgan scored 14 points and had nine rebounds to lead Lawrence High's sophomores to a 71-68 boys basketball victory over Shawnee Mission Northwest Tuesday night. D.J. Hilding had 11 points. Kramer had 10 points and seven rebounds. Scott Kramer scored 10 points.

South sweeps West

in boys basketball

Andy Flory and Mike Morrell each scored 12 points and Brandon White added 11 as South beat West, 50-25, in eighth-grade city boys basketball on Tuesday at South. South improved to 5-6.

The Cougars won the B game, 51-28. Dallas Worley scored 23 points for South (6-3). South will entertain Southwest on Thursday.

SW stops Central

Southwest defeated Central, 44-40, in eighth-grade boys basketball on Tuesday at Southwest. Stephen Vinson scored 16 points for SW. Aubrey Gilbert scored 17 points and D.J. Watkins 10 for Central. Southwest improved to 8-4. Central is 6-4. Southwest won the B-game, 43-28. Brandon Sayre scored 10 points for SW.

Southwest ninth rolls

Pat Krivoshia scored 31 points and Chris Kelly added 12 as Southwest stopped Central, 80-53, in city ninth grade boys basketball on Tuesday at Central. Southwest improved to 9-4. The Bulldogs won the B game, 53-48, behind Grant Van Blaricum's 14 points. Southwest's B team improved to 10-3. The Dogs will play host to South on Thursday.

Kaws stop B-L, 45-27

Perry -- Perry-Lecompton's freshman girls basketball team defeated Basehor-Linwood, 45-27, on Tuesday at P-L's gym. Alphie Rees scored 16 points and Laura Farley 10 for P-L, 9-2. P-L will travel to Lansing Friday.

SAAC to visit vets

Kansas University's student-athlete advisory committee will participate in the national salute to hospitalized veterans by visiting patients at the Colmery-O'Neil Medical Center in Topeka from 3 to 5 p.m. today.

KU v-ball inks LeMere

Molly LeMere, a 5-foot-7 setter from Papillon, Neb., has signed a national volleyball letter of intent at Kansas. LeMere is a two-time all-state selection.

BU women lose

Leavenworth -- Triece Baker scored 16 points in Baker's 80-70 loss to St. Mary's in college women's basketball Tuesday.

Kaws fall to B-L

Basehor -- Perry-Lecompton's freshman boys basketball team fell to Basehor Linwood, 66-40, on Tuesday at Basehor-Linwood's gym. Daniel Sailors scored nine points for P-L, 2-11. The Kaws will travel to Lansing Friday.
