Leavenworth — A funeral Mass for James Francis Davoren Jr., 67, Leavenworth, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Holy Angel Cemetery, Basehor.
Mr. Davoren died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Cushing Memorial Hospital, Leavenworth.
He was born July 25, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of James F. and Margaret Baumgartner Davoren.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Davoren was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Eagles Aerie No. 55, both of Leavenworth. He retired in 1996 as a facilities engineer at the Fort Leavenworth Water Plant, where he had worked since 1963.
On July 22, 1950, he married Anna Delaphine Seufert at Tonganoxie. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Michael, Overland Park, Timothy, East Moline, Ill., Kevin, Tonganoxie, and Mark and Eric, both of Leavenworth; four daughters, Debra Delladio, Valley Falls, Ann Chapman, Lansing, Mary Mowery, Leavenworth, and Susan Frantz, Ottawa; a brother, Robert, Lansing; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn.
