Marguerite Maria Cole

Services for Marguerite Maria Cole, 89, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Park. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott.

Mrs. Cole died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998.

She was born March 2, 1909, in Monett, Mo. She graduated from Fort Scott High School, Fort Scott Junior College and Kansas University.

She lived in Junction City, then the Kansas City area for more than 30 years. For the last four years, she lived at Brandon Woods Retirement Center, Lawrence.

Her husband, John Cotterman Cole, died in 1955.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise Akers, Fairfax Station, Va., and Judith Cole, Alexandria, Va.

Friends may call from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. today at the chapel.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 5960 Dearborn, Suite 100, Mission 66202.

Lester J. Parsons Sr.

Beaumont, Tex. -- Services for Lester J. Parsons Sr., 77, Beaumont, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Beaumont. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa.

Mr. Parsons died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native of Kahoka, Mo., he lived in Beaumont for many years. He was an engineer with Union Oil Company and a U.S. World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Lester J. Jr., Fannett, and Thomas, Port Acres; two daughters, Barbara Ann Parsons, Spring, and Linda Van Deelen, Eudora, Kan.; a sister, Mable Parsons, Arlington, Va.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont.
