Osage City Services for Floyd E. Thompson, 66, Ottawa, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crable Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
Mr. Thompson died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at his home.
He was born Nov. 28, 1932 in Pomona, the son of Rollo E. and Lydia I. Burns Thompson. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1950. He moved to Ottawa in 1958.
He served in the Army in the 1950s. He worked for Keane TV and Radio Repair in Ottawa and later was a bulk milk route driver for Robert Crable in White City. He worked at the Sunflower Ordnance plant in DeSoto and later was a driver for Ross Truck Line in Ottawa. He was a route driver for Bennett Creamery in Ottawa from 1973 to 1994. He recently was a part-time driver for Bob Eichenberger's farming enterprises in the Pomona area.
He married V. Elsie Crable on Nov. 29, 1957, in Quenemo. She died April 2, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Terry W. and Jeffery L., both of Ottawa; a daughter, Renee G. VanderPol, Lawrence; a brother, M.A., Apple Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Evelyn Dellolio, Friendswood, Tex., and Juanita Higdon, Pomona; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
