Beverly Mack, associate professor of African and African American studies at Kansas University, has been named associate dean of international programs.

With KU since 1993, Mack will work closely with KU's four area study centers and the European Studies Committee, promoting cooperative activities among the centers and among these units and the professional schools.

In addition, Mack will be a resource person for KU faculty, administrators and students and will work with the business community and professional organizations.

Mack replaces Terry Weidner, who accepted a position as director of the Asian studies center at the University of Missouri.
