The Oskaloosa school board on Monday night approved its budget for the 1998-99 school year.
The budget for the upcoming year will be $4.39 million, about 2.3 percent higher than the current budget of $4.29 million, Supt. James White said.
The district's mill levy will fall 14.3 mills -- from 46.97 mills this year to 32.64 mills next year, he said.
A mill is $1 in property taxes for every $1,000 in assessed valuation.
The drop was the result of increased property valuations and a lower local option budge, White said.
