A private service for immediate family is planned for Jetta Jeffries Larsen, 50, Lawrence. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.

She died Aug. 8, 1998, in Des Moines, Iowa.

She was born Feb. 10, 1948, in New Orleans, the daughter of Jim and Jean Jeffries. She attended Lawrence High School. She worked several years for Carson Berger and for the past several years she was a bookkeeper for A-1 City Cab.

Survivors include a daughter, Lea Larsen, a son, Adam Larsen, both of Des Moines; her father, James Jeffries, Overbrook; two brothers, Ronald Jeffries, Lawrence, and Jim Jeffries, Topeka.

The family suggests memorials to the education fund for Lea and Adam Larsen, sent in care of Dave Larsen, 920 40th St., Des Moines, Iowa 50312.


Topeka -- Services for Benjamin Leigh Edmonds, 66, Berryton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel, Topeka. Burial will be at Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Edmonds died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at his home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Topeka, the son of Benjamin ``Cull'' Edmonds and Esther Augusta Maike Edmonds. He graduated from Topeka High and was a member of the Kansas National Guard for 19 years. He also worked for Sealtest Milk Distributors for almost 10 years and owned and operated E4 Excavating business for 30 years.

He was a member of Kansas Rural Water Assn., and Lawrence Gem and Mineral Society.

He married Shirley Jeanine Riepen on April 12, 1952, in Topeka. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Robin and Jerry, both of Berryton; a sister, Jeanette Bowen, Sun City West, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon on Wednesday at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, 336 Mo., Lawrence 66044.


Memorial services for John Theodore Grace, 21, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

Mr. Grace died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in Lawrence.

He was born Oct. 11, 1976, in Springfield, Mass., the son of John Grace and JoAnn Surette Jones. He was a student at Kansas University.

Survivors include his father, John Grace, Yelm, Wash.; his mother, JoAnn Jones, Lawrence; a brother, Jeffrey, Yelm, Wash.; and his grandparents, Walter and Janet Grace, Wilbraham, Mass.

TRIMBLE Services

Meriden -- Services for Frederick W. Trimble, 82, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meriden United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Trimble died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.

He was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Valley Falls, the son of Robert M. and Ruth E. Petitt Trimble.

Mr. Trimble was a 1933 graduate of Rock Creek High and had lived in Topeka since 1997, when he moved from Meriden. He was a rural mail carrier and substitute carrier before he retired in 1981. Previously, he had worked at W.A.L. Thompson Hardware in Topeka for 19 years. From 1973 to 1978 he was associated with Hunts Hardware and Roach Hardware, both of Topeka. He also was an insurance representative and mutual fund agent with Waddell and Reed, Topeka, for 10 years.

He was a member of Meriden United Methodist Church.

He married Mary A. Gibbs on Jan. 15, 1938. She died July 3, 1947. He married Elizabeth Beeler on Oct. 24, 1948, in Fort Scott. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Corbin, Kansas City, Mo., and Dean, Topeka; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Meriden United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
