Services for Keith Allen McInnis, 33, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

McInnis died Thursday at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was the manager of a KFC Restaurant in Overland Park.

Neoma Schendel

Wellsville -- Services for Neoma Edith Neis Schendel, 81, rural Edgerton, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Wilson and Son Chapel in Wellsville. Burial will follow at the Clearfield Cemetery, in rural Eudora.

Mrs. Schendel died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at the Olathe Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 22, 1917, in rural Wellsville, the daughter of Albert Fred and Anna Marie Brecheisen Neis. She attended the Vespertine Elementary School and was a graduate of Wellsville High School in 1934, where she was valedictorian of her class. She attended Emporia State University and taught school in Douglas County.

She was a member of the Clearfield United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Extension Homemakers Unit, 4-H, and the Farm Bureau of Miami County.

She married Louis Benhardt Schendel on Jan. 22, 1938. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Alan Schendel and Alva Schendel, both of Wellsville, and Albert Schendel, Wilson; a daughter, Lois N. Moss, Wellsville; a sister, Irene Kiester, Wellsville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson and Son Chapel.

The family suggests memorials to the Clearfield United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 486, Wellsville 66092.

Carolyn Starkey

Services for Carolyn Grace Starkey, 58, Everton, Mo., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence. Burial will be at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Starkey died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at her home in Everton, Mo.

She was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Lecompton, the daughter of Fred W. and Grace Parrish Smith. She attended Lecompton Elementary School and graduated from Eudora High School in 1958.

She worked for Hallmark Cards and as a beautician working in nursing homes.

She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Everton, Mo.

She married Henry Edward Starkey on Sept. 1, 1957, in Miami, Okla. He died in May 1991.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Starkey, Everton, Mo.; a daughter, Nikki Starkey, Everton, Mo.; a brother, Elmer Fred Smith, Ozawkie; a sister, Mary Ruth Rees, Topeka; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
