Topeka The Kansas Arts Commission is taking applications for its Individual Artist Program, which includes the Kansas Touring Program and the Kansas Artist Fellowships and Mini-Fellowships.
The application deadline for the Kansas Touring Program is Monday. The deadline for the fellowships and mini-fellowships is Oct. 19.
The Kansas Touring Program typically lists solo and ensembles artists in the areas of storytelling, mime, dance, theater for adults and children and classical, folk, ethnic, blues, jazz and gospel music. Artists are appointed to the roster for three years.
Fellowships typically are for $5,000 and are awarded in five disciplines: music composition, choreography, film/video, playwriting and interdisciplinary/performance art.
Mini-fellowships of $500 are offered in the same categories plus fiction, poetry, two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual art and crafts.
