How reasonable?

Cheaper than Alvamar, but more expensive than the Orchards, Lawrence's two other public layouts.

At Eagle Bend, it will cost $13.50 to play 18 holes on a weekday and $15 on weekends.

At Alvamar, the cost is $24 Monday through Thursday, $28.50 on Fridays and $39.50 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Meanwhile, the Orchards, an executive nine-hole course with no par fives, has various discounts for juniors, seniors and KU students. However, the basic fare is $9 for nine holes and $12 for 18 holes on weekdays, then $10 and $14 on weekends and holidays.

Do you want a riding cart?

Eagle Bend will probably charge $20. Alvamar's cart fee is $25. An Orchards cart costs $11 for nine holes and $17 for 18.

Incidentally, city officials have already decided that their rates for 1999 will be $14.50 on weekdays and $16.50 on weekends and holidays.
