— Mass of Christian burial for Rae Ester Novak, 55, Topeka, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Catholic Church, Topeka. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.

Mrs. Novak died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.

She was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Scandia, the daughter of Clell and Matilda McDowell Ferguson. She graduated from Seaman High School, Topeka.

She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Topeka.

She married John S. Novak on June 24, 1961, in Topeka. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Julie Chambers, Smithville, Mo., Ann-Marie Johnson, Grand Island, Neb., Linda Sowards, and Angela Thompson, both of Topeka; her stepmother, Pauline Ferguson, Pottsboro, Tex.; six sisters, Carla Douglas, Irving, Tex., Carol Ridgeway, Lawrence, Alice Sweany, Egan, Minn., Janet Wills, Osage City, Theresa Adams, Maple Hill, and Paula Banks, Taylor, S.C., and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Kansas Chapter, Arthritis Foundation, 1602 E. Waterman, Wichita, KS 67211.
