A 27-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend during an argument early Sunday was charged with aggravated battery Monday in Douglas County District Court.
Michelle Gail Metz, 155 Indian Ave., was in Douglas County Jail Monday afternoon on $10,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing was set for 1:45 p.m. Sept. 16 in district court.
Susan Hadl, a Lawrence police spokeswoman, said police were called about 3:30 a.m. Sunday to Haskell Indian Nations University's Blalock Hall, where they found a 26-year-old man sitting on the floor of a hallway with his neck bleeding.
The man, who lived at the hall, was taken to an area hospital and treated, Hadl said.
She said a woman at the scene told police Metz was involved. When Metz was questioned, she had blood on her hands, clothes and shoes, Hadl said.
The man told police he and Metz had just driven home from a party at Clinton Lake, and they began arguing when she stabbed him. Police found the knife in the car, Hadl said.
