Services for Patsy A. Sanders, 59, Baldwin, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin.

Mrs. Sanders died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at her home.

She was born Sept. 6, 1938, in Eureka, the daughter of Waymond and Helen (Purkeypile) Buffington. She grew up in Eureka and attended Eureka High School.

She lived in Eureka until moving to the Lenexa area in 1962, where she lived until she moved to Baldwin in 1969. She owned and operated Betty B's Dress Shop in Baldwin for more than a year before she became ill. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Sanders attended the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church in Lawrence and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Baldwin.

She married William M. Sanders on Aug. 22, 1955, in Eureka. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her mother, Eureka; two sons, Timothy A. Sanders, Lawrence, and Thomas E. Sanders, Overbrook; a daughter, Janna K. Shuck, Baldwin; two brothers, Paul Buffington, Medford, Okla., and Phillip Buffington, Topeka; three sisters, Phyllis Howard, Burlison, Tenn., and Peggy Spain and Priscilla Weatherbee, both of Ottawa; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Baldwin, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church and may be sent in care of the Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home.
