Is it legal for Pinckney School officials to ban parents picking up their kids from school from parking along the west side of Mississippi Street and the school parking lots?

"It is against city ordinance for vehicles to park on the west side of Mississippi Street in front of Pinckney School between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., as indicated by the city signs," said Tom Bracciano, the school district's director of transportation and safety. "The school parking lots are district property and subject to restrictions imposed by school officials. School officials would like to thank parents for their cooperation in helping make the area around Pinckney a safe place for students before, during and after school dismissal times."
