KANSAS CITY, KAN. Services for Agapeto "Pete" Hernandez, 63, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Topeka. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka.
Mr. Hernandez died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at the Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Topeka, the son of Vicente and Deonisia Rivera Hernandez.
Mr. Hernandez was a 1952 graduate of Topeka High School. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1977 and worked for the Mid-West Chandelier Company as a punch press operator.
In 1957, he married Mary Jo Marshno. They were later divorced. He married Bernadine Stokes in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 20, 1980. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include four sons, Peter, Norman, Okla., Thomas, Topeka, Paul, Topeka, and Anthony, Salina; two daughters, Lisa Wood, Topeka, and Lori Hernandez, Lawrence; three brothers, George Hernandez, Topeka, Thomas Jimenez, Topeka, and John Hernandez, Valley Station, Ky.; two sisters, Ines Anguiano, Topeka, and Micila "Mickey" Munoz, Topeka; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW Sixth in Topeka. Rosaries will be held at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, and a Parish Wake Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church is located at 1008 NE Atchison, in Topeka.
