Law enforcement report

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • An AM/FM stereo system valued on a police report at $1,300 was taken between 9:45 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday from a vehicle at Laird Noller Automotive, 2858 Four Wheel Dr. A window on the vehicle also was broken, causing $150 damage.

Police reports

  • Police said they are investigating an alleged sexual battery involving a 19-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man that over the weekend at a sorority in the 1900 block of Stewart Avenue. Police said the woman didn't want to discuss the incident. But her friends told police a friend she had known for several years attempted to rape her. Police said they interviewed the man and he denied it. Police said the case was being sent to the Douglas County District Attorney's office for review.
  • About $1,000 in damage was done to the paint of a 1995 Toyota Corolla by scratching it with a sharp object, Lawrence police said. The damage occurred between midnight Friday and 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of West Sixth Street, police said.
