Two experts in the history and politics of the former Soviet Union will give separate guest lectures this afternoon and evening at the Kansas Union.
Svetozar Stojanovic, director of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, will speak at 4 p.m. today at the Centennial Room in the Kansas Union.
His lecture is titled "Humanity at the Threshold of the New Century and Millennium."
Taras Kuzio, professor and research fellow with the Centre for Russian & East European Studies at the University of Birmingham, England, will speak at 7:30 p.m. today in the Jayhawk Room.
Kuzio's lecture is titled "State and Nation Building in Ukraine: Successes, Disappointments and the Way Ahead."
