Services for Betty Jean Stuart, 72, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Stuart died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at her home.
She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Slater, Mo., the daughter of Clyde Dresser and Christina Souza Sargent.
A homemaker for many years, Mrs. Stuart also worked for Sears and then as a purchasing agent for Packer Plastics. She retirement in 1989.
A longtime Lawrence resident, Mrs. Stuart was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Adah Chapter No. 7, Order of the Eastern Star, Lawrence.
She married Norman C. Stuart on Oct. 10, 1938, in Ottawa. He died July 10, 1982.
Survivors include three sons, Norman Stuart, Concordia, Mo., Michael Stuart, Lawrence, and Lynn Stuart, Germany; a brother, Kenneth Sargent, Marshall, Mo.; two sisters, Joy Reath, Marshall, Mo., and Gwendolyn Piper, Arrow Rock, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Project Lively, sent in care of the mortuary.
