A Kansas Legislature committee will travel Thursday to Lawrence on a fact-finding tour of local arts facilities.
The Joint Committee on Arts and Cultural Resources plans to visit several local arts facilities during the day and then hear from local arts patrons about arts spending in Kansas.
The committee's schedule is as follows: 1 p.m., Lawrence Arts Center; 3 p.m., Kansas University's Spencer Art Museum; 4 p.m., KU's Lied Center; 5 p.m., the Lawrence Community Theatre.
At the Lawrence Community Theatre, the committee will meet with members of the Lawrence Cultural Roundtable. Local arts administrators will reveal statistics about arts spending in Kansas. Lawrence's state legislators have been invited to attend.
