Other than being an obvious blight to a neighborhood, is it illegal in the city of Lawrence to use the grass sideyard next to your driveway to park your vehicle? Who should I call to report this, if it is illegal?
Yes, parking on the grass next to your driveway is illegal, said Terese Gorman, city engineer.
"Per city code, you have to be parked on an improved surface, which does not include grass," Gorman said. "It has to be concrete or asphalt."
To report a violation, she said, contact Julie Wyatt, the city's environmental inspector, at 832-3112.
