Lecompton has been selected as one of 14 sites in the state to host a town meeting on the judicial system of Kansas.
The town meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Territorial Capitol Museum.
A 14-member panel appointed by Gov. Bill Graves will discuss and take comments on the Kansas judicial system, juvenile justice and suggestions on how to improve the system.
Panelists will include former Gov. Robert Bennett, Michael Hoeflich, dean of the law school at Kansas University, state Rep. Barbara Ballard, former Rep. John Solbach and Lawrence Police Chief Ron Olin.
