A Garnett teen was killed and two Ottawa women were injured in a head-on collision south of Ottawa late Wednesday.
Corey J. Young, 17, Garnett, died at St. Francis Hospital, where he was taken by helicopter after his southbound 1991 Mazda collided head-on with a 1991 Pontiac being driven north by Jane A. Wingert, 64, Ottawa.
The accident occurred about a mile and half south of Princeton on U.S. Highway 59 in Franklin County, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.
Wingert was listed in serious condition Thursday night at Columbia Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
A passenger in Wingert's vehicle, Elizabeth Cole, 79, Ottawa, was listed in critical condition in an intensive care unit at Columbia Overland Park.
The KHP was investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Wingert and Cole were wearing seat belts. Young was not, a KHP dispatcher said.
