— Services for Mary Eloise Magnuson, 74, Waukegan, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Lutheran Church, Waukegan. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.

Mrs. Magnuson died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at her home.

She was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles W. and Mary Kanode Wright. She graduated from Topeka High School and earned a degree from Kansas University in 1944. She taught school in Waukegan Public Schools for 38 years.

She was a member of the KU Alumni Association, Lecompton Historical Society, KU Learned Club and KU Gold Medal Club. She was president of the board of trustees of the Waukegan Public Library and secretary of the Lake City Retired Teachers Assn. She also was a member of the Trinity United Lutheran Church in Waukegan where she served on the church council.

She married Norman G. Magnuson in 1946. He died July 9, 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Janis Bellavage, Waukegan; a son, Norman G. Magnuson, Jr., Fairfax Station, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Neil Hupe, Perry; a brother, Charles W. Wright, Lecompton, and two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County St., or Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Ave., both in Waukegan 60085.
