Private inurnment services for Muriel M. Burzle, 85, Lawrence, will be at Pioneer Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mrs. Burzle died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Andrew and Christina Fischer Wittmann.

She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1932 and did graduate studies in Munich, Germany. From 1946-49 she was an instructor in German at Kansas University. She was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, the University Women's Club and the Retirees Club at KU. She had lived in Lawrence since 1945.

She married J.A. "Toni" Burzle on Oct. 3, 1935, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He survives.

Other survivors include two sisters, Anne Whitman, Perth, Ontario, Canada, and Leone Taylor, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assn. or the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements.
