Funeral services for Louise M. Wheaton, 96, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale.

Mrs. Wheaton died Sunday, March 23, 1997, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 6, 1900, in Oswego, the daughter of Thomas George Radcliff and Bessie Ann Harris.

She became a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cherryvale in 1915. She moved to Lawrence in 1942 and became a member of the Ninth Street Baptist Church in 1943. She was mother of the church, usher, and former treasurer of the usher board.

She married Dana Wheaton in 1942. He died in 1977. A son, Tommie Isain Patton, and a daughter, Susie McGrader, also died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Charlie Patton Jr., Lawrence; a daughter, Betty Glover, Seattle, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Florida Marie Boyd, Yakima, Wash.; and 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ninth Street Baptist Church.
