Governor appoints

Lawrence man to council

Gov. Bill Graves has appointed Francois G. Henriquez II, Lawrence, to the Credit Union Council.

The Credit Union Council serves as an adviser to the Kansas Department of Credit Union administrator on the issues and needs of credit unions. The governor appoints members from each congressional district, with the remaining members from the state at-large.

Henriquez is senior vice president and general counsel to the U.S. Central Credit Union, Overland Park. He received his law degree from Columbia Law School, New York, and a bachelor's degree from Yale University, New Haven, Conn.

He is a trustee of Drury College, Springfield, Mo., and is a member of the Black Chamber of Commerce.
