Memorial services for Leona Fay Uttinger, 78, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lawrence. She was cremated. Inurnment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Uttinger died Friday, March 21, 1997, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Belton, Mo., the daughter of Solomon Fitzgerald and Edith Lorena Saultz.
She grew up and attended school in Belton, Mo. She moved to Lawrence from Eudora in 1970. She worked for Lawrence Independent Laundry and Bill's Cafe.
She married Sam Morris Uttinger on July 31, 1943, in Harrisonville, Mo. He died Aug. 31, 1995.
Survivors include three daughters, LaVerna McClure, Lawrence, Virginia Cowger, St. Louis, and Sharon Bass, Milwaukie, Ore.; two sisters, Mildred Hugill, Independence, Mo., and Rosella Breeden, Raymore, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, is in charge of arrangements.
