Sharpen your pencil and find your bracket.

Here's your guide to sub-state basketball tournaments for Class 6A and area schools still alive.

Semifinals for the boys are tonight and semis for the girls are Friday. Sub-state finals are Saturday.

The 6A winners advance to Emporia next week, the 4A winners to Salina and the 3A winners to Hutchinson.

6A at Lawrence

Boys: Olathe South. At 17-3 and last year's state runner-up, the Falcons are the favorite. O-South has one of the best backcourts in the state in Brett McFall and T.J. Brown. Don't overlook Lawrence. Despite their up-and-down season, the Lions are always tough at home. Girls: Olathe South. The Falcons' lone loss in February was to top-ranked and unbeaten Olathe North.

6A at Blue Valley Northwest

Boys: Shawnee Mission North. Its 11-9 record is deceptive. The Indians have won five games in a row, including a six-point victory over co-Sunflower League champion Olathe South. Girls: Blue Valley Northwest.

6A at Leavenworth

Boys: Leavenworth. At 16-4, the Pioneers are the class of their field. Girls: Olathe North. Top-ranked and 20-0, the Eagles will roll.

6A at SM East

Boys: SM East. The Lancers won't be denied again. Girls: SM Northwest. At 16-4, the Cougars are five games better than the No. 2 seed.

6A at Garden City

Boys: Derby. Girls: Wichita Northwest. The Grizzlies are 18-2 while the other three teams are a combined 16-44.

6A at Junction City

Boys: Manhattan. The Indians closed the season with seven wins in a row. Wichita Southeast (18-2) is on the other side of the bracket and must face much-improved Junction City in the first round. Girls: Washburn Rural. The Junior Blues, unbeaten last season, want to defend the state crown.

6A at Wichita East

Boys: Wichita East. Featuring Korleone Young and Laverne Smith, the Aces are the team to beat at state. Girls: Maize.

6A at Wichita South

Boys: Wichita South. Even at 10-10, the defending state champ won't be easy to knock off on its home court. Girls: Dodge City.

4A at Hiawatha

Boys: Holton. The Wildcats are coming off a 92-56 romp of Atchison.

4A at Baldwin

Boys: Basehor-Linwood. The Bobcats have won eight of their last 10. They should meet defending state champ Gardner-Edgerton in the sub-state final.

Girls: Baldwin. Bulldog fans go ahead and make reservations in Salina. DeSoto's loss to Kansas City Piper removed any doubt.

4A at Spring Hill

Boys: Ottawa. The Cyclones, a state qualifier in 5A last year, have won four games in a row.

Girls: Osawatomie. Its 20-1 with the one loss coming to Baldwin.

3A at Eudora

Boys: Wellsville. The Eagles, who played primarily a 4A schedule, have met just two 3A opponents all season -- Eudora and McLouth. The Eagles beat Eudora, 59-51, on its home court in December. If Eudora beats Wellsville tonight, the Cardinals will be seeking their first state berth since 1952.

Girls: Eudora. The Cardinals are 18-3. The three losses are to Santa Fe Trail, Baldwin and Osawatomie -- all 4A teams with a combined 58-5 record.
