Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A white 1994 Ford Escort and other items valued on a police report at $6,475 were taken between 8 p.m. Sunday and 7:45 a.m. Monday from the 1600 block of Willow Cove.

Police reports

  • Brent Howard, 28, Lawrence, was arrested for obstruction of the legal process, criminal damage and attempting to elude after he, a 16-year-old boy and another man led police on a car- and foot chase Tuesday afternoon. The chase began after an officer noticed Howard and the teen-ager in a vehicle that allegedly ran a red light at 15th and Iowa. They ran from the vehicle near Ninth and Iowa. One of the suspects was apprehended in the 1500 block of West Ninth and the other was caught in the 200 block of Alabama. Stolen construction equipment allegedly was found in their vehicle, police said. Howard was being held in the Douglas County Jail on $3,250 bond Tuesday night. The 16-year-old was transported to the Northeast Kansas Juvenile Detention Center in Lawrence. The third man was not found Tuesday.
