Here are some guidelines for the 18 to 20 children who will be accepted in preschool classrooms at East Heights and Pinckney. Children must be 4 by Aug. 31.
Parents agree to participate in classroom activities and parent workshops.
Families qualify for free or reduced-price lunches through the school district.
Children served in another program in the community are discouraged from applying.
"A family does not need to meet all of the criteria, but a family that meets all of them or a higher percentage of them will have first priority," said Cris Anderson, coordinator of early childhood education.
