Schedule your volunteer group now for the annual Clinton Lake cleanup set for April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clinton Lake.
The cleanup is a cooperative effort of the Corps of Engineers, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, the Boy Scouts, Wal-Mart, Hallmark, Farmland Industries and others to maintain and enhance the community's use and enjoyment of Clinton Lake.
Cleanup efforts will concentrate on the shoreline, parks, campgrounds, beaches and hiking trails. Cleanup bags are provided and all suitable items recycled. Volunteers will get a free lunch, see live wildlife exhibits, environmental booths and have a chance at cash for trash.
For information and preregistration, call Jim Franz at the Clinton Lake Corps of Engineers office, (913) 843-7665.
