A professor of electrical engineering and computer science has been designated the first Dan Servey distinguished professor at Kansas University.

Victor Frost, who joined the faculty in 1982 upon completion of three electrical engineering degrees at KU, was selected based on his record of scholarship and teaching.

He is executive director for research at KU's Information and Telecommunications Technology Center.

"This professorship will expand opportunities for research with my graduate students and contribute to the communications program at KU," he said.
