Oskaloosa class setup
may undergo changes
Oskaloosa -- Elementary school students could see a difference in their class setups under a plan being discussed by district officials here.
Supt. Jim White said district staff and board members were talking about modifying Oskaloosa's "multi-age" class structure, in which different grade levels -- second and third, for instance -- are combined in one class.
During a board meeting Monday, board members heard a plan to teach only first- through fourth-graders in multi-age settings. Kindergarten and fifth-grade students would no longer be mixed with other grades.
White said the board requested further study on the plan.
